Omolola Oloworaran is a seasoned leader in financial services and pension regulation, currently serving as the Director General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Nigeria. With over 20 years of experience spanning financial operations, capital markets, and pension fund oversight, she plays a key role in shaping institutional investment strategies and regulatory advancements in Nigeria’s pension industry.
As DG of PenCom, Omolola is driving initiatives to enhance the sustainability and expansion of Nigeria’s contributory pension scheme, strengthen compliance frameworks, and create new investment opportunities for pension funds. Under her leadership, PenCom is focused on increasing pension penetration, improving fund governance, and aligning the industry with global best practices.
Before assuming her current role, she held senior leadership positions at First Bank of Nigeria, Stanbic IBTC, and Renaissance Capital, where she led transformative projects in financial innovation, operational efficiency, and risk management. She began her career at Citibank, contributing to the development of policies that supported the launch of fixed-income trading in Nigeria.
Omolola is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and has completed executive programs at INSEAD and the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on artificial intelligence, strategic decision-making, and financial leadership.
She is passionate about leveraging pension assets for economic development, ensuring regulatory frameworks support sustainable investments, and positioning Nigeria’s pension funds as key drivers of long-term financial security and infrastructure growth.
