Amos has over 12 years of experience in investments, treasury management, and capital markets in the private and public sectors across sub-Saharan Africa and the US. He is passionate about driving sustainable long-term value creation and impact in Africa and is committed to ensuring capital plays a critical role in creating a sustainable future for Africa’s people and natural environment.
At FSD Africa, he is responsible for implementing financial and private sector development and deepening initiatives that aim to mobilize domestic capital investments into the real sector. These include projects that cover asset management, pensions, money market development, and guarantees. He has also worked on thematic bond transactions and fund structures that focus on increasing access to capital for SMEs and climate-resilient projects.
Before joining FSD Africa, he worked as an investment officer at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), managing US$8 billion of foreign exchange reserves assets and inherent investment risks. While at CBK, he was seconded to CrowdStrike Holdings in Silicon Valley, US, as part of the IFC-Milken Institute Capital Market Leaders Program. At CrowdStrike, he was part of the strategic finance and investor relations team that worked on the company’s fundraising efforts, including the $700 million IPO listing on the NASDAQ (CRWD).
Amos holds an MSc and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) and holds certifications in Sustainable Finance and Impact Investing from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, and a graduate certificate in capital markets from the George Washington University. Amos is a fellow of the IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Leaders Program.
